On the average, only those prisoners could keep alive who, after years of trekking from camp to camp, had lost all scruples in their fight for existence; they were prepared to use every means, honest and otherwise, even brutal force, theft, and betrayal of their friends, in order to save themselves. We who have come back, by the aid of many lucky chances or miracles—whatever one may choose to call them—we know: the best of us did not return.– Victor Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning

I rarely read self-help books, 99% of what I read is fiction/autobiographies that have nothing to do with self-help, the authors are usually suicidal or eloquently narcissistic.
By searching for I mean googling and clicking on random pdfs and closing chrome quickly whenever the fake ‘Your Computer Has Been Attacked By A Virus’ advert comes up. I’m a scaredy cat who just ate four tang yuans. I wonder where do people get those voices from, they can capitalize words in a way that I can’t.
